배양숙
Unceded ancestral lands of the Council of Three Fires: Ojibwe, Odawa, and Potawatomi, as well as over a dozen tribes, including the Miami, Ho-Chunk, Menominee, Sac and Fox (Chicago)
Stef Henning AKA 배양숙 (Bae Yang Sook) was taken to America at 3 months to a white family in Iowa in 1983. The erasure of Korean culture and heritage wasn't apparent until much later in life when she moved to Portland, OR, and realized her identity was no longer tied to her white family. Over the last few years, she has explored what being Korean means by embracing her identity, returning to Korea for the first time, and finally feeling at home in her body. This is Stef’s first in-person KAAN experience and first time speaking at an adoptee conference. Transracial // Transnational // 🌈 Queer
