Julayne Lee

Poet
Long Beach, California
Julayne Lee is an overseas adopted Korean (OAK) and has facilitated discussions on being childfree by choice or by circumstance since 2019, focusing on adoptees/adopted people and women of color. She believes legacy is more than biology and through ongoing dialogue both private and public, aims to normalize and destigmatize being childfree.  Julayne is also a film advisor and screenplay consultant, currently on the team for a forthcoming documentary directed by an adopted Korean. Creative practice as healing has led her to seek out holistic healing through “alternative” medicine. She is the author of the collection of poems Not My White Savior (Rare Bird, 2018) and resides in California.
